'I Wanted to Buy This House But It Wasn't For Sale'

I Wanted to Buy This House But It Wasn't for Sale is an original contemporary landscape painting by British artist Clare Chinnery.

'This painting was inspired by a beautiful, derelict house I discovered right on the beach in Monticelli, Italy. I fell in love with the place and couldn't stop thinking about it, the faded beauty of the building, its position beside the sea and the feeling of a life that had once been lived there'.

Painted in oil on canvas, the work is part of Clare's collection of expressive landscapes inspired by places encountered in Britain and Europe. Her landscape paintings focus on atmosphere, memory and the emotional connection we can have with a particular place.
