'Celestial Blooms'

'Celestial Blooms'

Everyman Theatre, Hope St, Liverpool

18th June - 16th July 2024

A joint exhibition by myself and Nicholette Landrum as part of DotArts 'Art in the Ev' initiative, the Green Room on the mezzanine at the Everyman Theatre in Liverpool hosts regular exhibitions by local artists.

I loved the contrast between our different painting styles, Nicolettes glossy celestial swirls beautifully contrasting with my thick impasto shapes really made for an interesting exhibition.

Celestial Blooms

Clare Chinnery
Clare is a painter living and working on the Wirral Peninsular. Her abstract style is concerned with capturing light, shape and form - taking inspiration from Dutch Vanitas still life paintings, whilst using collected details from music, film and literature for additional inspiration. Clare studied Fine Art Painting at Liverpool John Moore’s University where she developed her abstract style concentrating mainly on abstract landscapes. Clare’s work has been exhibited worldwide, she has paintings in collections in China, USA, New Zealand and UK.

Nicholette Landrum
After years of painting with acrylic and oil, I decided to experiment with resin and discovered the glossy parallels between the deep, intense colours of medium and the intense swirling shapes and colours of the night sky. I have always been fascinated by the constellations, and painting in this way gives me the opportunity to create my own interpretations of the surreal and otherworldly images of the stars. When the light captures the colours in the resin, it seems infinite.
